Week 6 - February 5-11

Sunday
February 5, 2012
Went to Mass in Norwood and then had brunch at the Skillet with Hendrina. We went to the Hardware store and picked out paint colours for the kitchen. In the afternoon we went to the Town Hall for the Lion's 60th Anniversary. They served a lot of finger food and had “free” (we paid $40.00 a couple) wine which John spent all his time serving. We then were asked to sit down for presentations and tributes which was followed by the entertainment a group of 3 musicians from Peterborough who were called the 3 Martini's. The main singer made up songs that fit in with the Lions and Norwood. Very entertaining.

Received the sad news that my Aunt Eleanor passed away yesterday.
The tile was laid in the kitchen today and it looks very nice. They will grout it tomorrow.  Steve was here and took the paint and counter samples. Tom was here to take a look and so was Fr. Reynolds. I talked to Dave re the island and he will do the doors for both cupboards. Chinese for supper as we can not walk on the new floor yet. 7   -2

Went to work as usual. John had the oil changed on the van, we need tie rods and new tires, just what we wanted to hear. The tile was grouted and the floor is now finished. John had lunch at the rectory with us. Brian who did the under floor heat worked on the control panel for the heat. Very large and very invasive in my hallway! He will be back tomorrow to finish and painters are expected tomorrow too but we will be at the funeral in Bradford. The key will be in the stove. Full moon

Up early to drive to Bradford for Aunt Eleanor's Funeral Mass at Holy Martyrs of Japan. Took only 2 1/4 hours. Sat with Jim & Mary, their daughter Frances and Pat. Virginia and Tony were behind us. Went to the graveside and then back to the Church for lunch. It was nice to see the cousins and their families and apparently Brian and Pat are going to plan a cousins reunion this summer. We got home around 5 fifteen. They did not do much in the kitchen. The water system is in and working and they replaces some of the wainscoting and did a bit of touch up.

Ken and Steve's son were here all day painting and they only have the last coat of white to do. We went for lunch with Fr. and Dennis (salesman) and his wife Linda at the White House Cafe and Linda paid!. Jack and Nancy dropped in to see the progress. Jason brought back my computer and spent a lot of time setting it up in its new home in the kitchen.

Worked on getting programs set up and trying to figure out Windows 7. Dave and Mary invited us to supper and to see the progress on the island. It was a nice evening
