Easter Cards

Today I went with my sister to a friends house to make Easter Cards. Pictures here are the two cards that I made. She had everything pre cut and charged us $1.00 per card! She sells the stamps for a company called Stampin Up! but made no sales pitch she just wanted everyone to have fun creating. She had wine and juice and tea and snacks as well. There were 7 ladies and it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. She is thinking of doing this every month and it is something I would do again. She also gave me an old catalogue which had a lot of ideas on how to use the stamps which would work for digital scrapbooking.

Wi

Not much going on around her this week but I did find an interesting site with free media such as photos and music called Wikamedia there are a lot of public domain photos and it is best to search for what you are looking for. I was looking at "latest files" but the odd pornographic photo would show up ( 1 in 300)so now I just search for what I am looking for. My next quest will be for fish or fishing things to see if I can get inspired for the June Mega Kit and I founds lots of interesting things

These are a couple public domain pictures I will play with

New Toys

Yesterday (Sunday) we went shopping and I bought myself an all-in-one HP printer. It is a HPC7280 and I love it. The print quality is excellent and I have been printing the pages for Paul's book. I also bought a case to carry my laptop so I think I am done shopping for awhile. We have a few ideas of trips we would like to do in the fall so it is time to start saving for that.
After shopping and visiting John's Mom at the nurseing home we went to his sister's for a lovely supper. Gayle finished off the evening with her wonderful spanish coffee always a treat when we visit her.

Here is a layout I did using After Dinner by Bonnie vanEsch;

Busy weekend and a freebie

We left after I finished work at noon on Friday to go to visit my son Christopher and family in Cornwall and it was a nice trip, no rain and daylight all the way. We got there in time for the twins 9th birthday dinner and party afterwards and Sharon and family (except for Paul who was at cadets) were there too. On Saturday we watched Alexandre play his last hockey game for the season and took Patrick to bowling. We also went to the computer store and bought me a laptop!!!!!!!! I am having lots of fun with that. We left CW's in the afternoon and went to Greely to see Sean's new house. It is a beautiful home and they have lots of room. The cabin in the backyard is a bonus too. They also have a new kitten called Zasha and hope to get a second one soon. We spent the night there and went to church at 9 on Sunday and came back to the house for a wonderful breakfast before heading home.

Now here is your St. Patrick's Day Freebie:

March Already!

I can't believe it is March already! Everyone is thinking Spring. The blue flowers are poking there silly heads through the frozen ground.
All I have been doing lately is spending money. There are just too many birthdays this time of the year. I also think it is time I took the plunge and buy myself a lap top.
Next weekend we are going to C and O to visit our sons.
I have been busy at RAK's making prizes and doing layouts (LO's) Here is one of my latest with a baby picture of me.

Back to Normal?

My brother-in-laws funeral was today and we had 14 out of 17 of our family here. They came last night (Tuesday) for the wake. It is back to work and hopefully back to normal now but I will be checking on my sister to make sure she is doing OK. Even though ot was a sad occasion it was nice to see relatives from out of town. Our family is close and it is times like this that we appreciate them the most. The people of our small town have been wonderfully supportive as well.

My Brother-in-law Al

My brother in law was diagnosed with liver cancer just after Christmas. Today he has been taken to the hospital and at the last report at 8:15 pm they don't think he will make it through the night. We have arranged for his son to fly home from out west but he won't get here till midnight tomorrow. We will be at my husbands Uncle's funeral tomorrow but will be home around supper time. My sister has a good friend and her younger ninteen year old son with here at the hospital. It is a tough time for all of us.

Sad news

We just heard that DH's Uncle (his Mom's brother) died today he would have turned 87 a week today. I guess we will be going to a funeral on Friday. On a happier note the drive to work was OK the freezing rain did not hit but stayed further north. My son S sent us pictures of his new home and I am looking forward to seeing it in a couple of weeks. DD and DGD are coming for the weekend and DGD is staying and driving back on her own on Thursday. I am looking forward to shopping and having a pajama day. I finished the Pocket Blessings for RAK's and did a cute LO of CW's kids kissing frogs.

Pajama Day Again

Yet another day on the computer. I am all caught up with the newspapers and got a start on the March prize, theme is the Heather fields of Scotland. Wish I had some photos from Scotland. The colours are very dark and drab. Also worked on the February Members RAK, did lots of downloading too. Backing up the computer is my next goal. Weather tomorrow is not looking good and we have to drive me to work in the morning. Calling for freezing rain ug. Getting all set to watch Medium.

Another Day

Again I spent most of the day at my computer. I did another layout for Paul and worked on my contibution for the March Mega Kit at RAKS. I have DH's scaner and I have been playing with that and scaning things to use as backgound papers for kits I would like to do. It was a pajama day and I loved it. Hope to have another freebie soon.

Saturday, February 7, 2009

Another day is almost over and I spent most of it at my computer as usual. Tonight we are going to friends to play Ramoli. I have my jar of pennies ready. I am working on sorting, scaning and organizieing a 10 inch high pile of pictures of Paul from 1993 to 2004. It is hard to decide on which year to put some of them in. When his Mom and sister come next weekend maybe they can help. Must go and see how many pennies I can loose tonight!
