Paul's birthday. No contractors here today! Had breakfast with Lou & Carmel at BH. Put the snowmen away. Did some thinking, measuring and talking about our bedroom. John moved some things around.

Brendon (my nephew) and Ryan here this morning and they made great progress with the bed. The weather was great and they worked outside. Chris here this evening. I finished putting the March/April things out and got all of January/February put away. Got notification of John W's retirement. Joan phoned to tell us that Dorothy's dad "Mugsie" had passed away.

Didn't sleep well. Changed my idea about night tables. Brendon stopped in at work and  I explained it to him and everything is a go. When I got home from work they were painting the units in the dining room. Chris  was here and he thinks he will be finished by Thursday.

Went to work. Lots of visitors. Brendon & Ryan cutting sanding and assembling units. I called Joan and she is going to the funeral with Sean. Chris finished all the painting. Meghan called and we will pick up the jewellery when we go to Ottawa on the 22nd.

Brendon & Ryan here at 9 sanding so no sleep in today. Found a new free game on the computer "Heroes of Hellas 3". Sean called and he will be picking up Gillian too. John went to his Lions dinner.

Friday March 8, 2013

Up early to drive to Toronto (North York). Leonard's funeral was at 11:00. Met Joan, Sean Gillian and Luke outside the Church. Len's brother Monsignor P. did the Mass and spoke very well. The reception was at the Church following and then those who wanted went to the burial site which was downtown.  We went to Ikea and got wardrobes for the bedroom with dressers to go inside them. They are very heavy. Luckily Sean and Gillian stopped in shortly after we got home and helped to unload them.

Chris was back to pick up the rest of his supplies. We had coffee at Burger Hut BH for short. The mattress arrived at 4:30 so we were able to go to Mass at 5. John opened a box for the dresser. Lots of parts. We made the bed and I went to bed early with my book. Had to put the clocks forward for day light savings.

Slept in. Knee a bit better. Went for breakfast at BH. Chris here but had to leave to watch the Indianapolis race. Windows are painted love the blue. Meghan called and she got the summer job she wanted. Ya! Made turkey soup for supper. Nothing on TV so read and then Christopher called. We got caught up on the family news.

Electrician will be coming tomorrow.  A quiet day. Tried to do my Blog but have lost access to A Day in the Life but have Crosstown and Organized Chaos back! Had coffee at BH and met Marg K and friend and we had a good chat.

Still no year end at work. Nancy was going to meet us at BH but it was closed. She came here instead. What a circus. Electrician Bernie & son Ben were here and so was Chris. Everything is topsy turvy. Knee a bit better but still have trouble with stairs.

Got my books but they were wrong so still waiting. Not much to do. Bad headache. House a disaster but lots getting done Bernie & Andrew here. Chris didn't make it today. Lots of wet snow. It came down all day. Had Chinese for supper.

TJ's birthday. Woke up to a winter wonderland. Snow on all the tree branches and wires. Snow still falling, very wet. Bernie & Andrew here.

We went to Havelock and I got my hair cut finally! Then we went to Campbellford to Bennett's and bought a memory foam Beautyrest mattress. Next the Salvation Army store and I got a 10 drawer (coloured plastic shallow) tower. Then we went to Giant Tiger and stocked up on frozen food. When we got home Bernie had switches on all the lights! It is going to take some getting used to. All the lights are temporary just a bulb in a socket. The fixtures we want need to be re-wired or bought. Knee feeling a bit better. Have tried every day to get my Blog back no luck.

Found the tin of keys I have been looking fore for years! My books are back at work so I had lots to do. Saw a pair of Cardinals in the hedge at the Rectory. Got my pay cheque a week late. Had lunch at BH, potato soup, yum. Bernie is finished his work and we had Susan here from Drapery by Design and we ordered honeycomb black out blinds for the windows. Colour is a light beige. Chris was here and did more mudding. Working on the March/April changeover but hard with everything so disorganized. Have most of the things on the dining room table. Had panzerotti for supper from the new place on 45. OK but not great. Went through the keys tonight, some very cool ones!

Went to Mass at 10:30 and had breakfast at BH. Carmel & Lou, Mary and Judy came to view the jewellery right after (12:30). Aunt Gayle arrived as they left and we had a nice visit and a cup of tea. Laurie arrived as Gayle was leaving and we had more tea. Diane and Rod arrived as Laurie was leaving. Hadn't seen them in ages and it was a great visit. Nancy came and Marg. They all left together at 5:30 and Meghan and I made Spanish Rice for supper. TJ and Grandpa went shopping for ingredients for potato soup for lunch tomorrow. Meghan did very well in jewellery sales.

Meghan made potato soup for us for lunch and it was delicious. TJ helped Grandpa move the bed and TV out of our bedroom. I gave TJ his birthday gift early and sent Paul's home with them. They left after lunch. Chris came and looked at the bedroom and will help us get it ready to paint. We had coffee at BH. We will sleep in the middle bedroom till ours is done. My right knee is acting up and it is hard to walk.

Work as usual. John took Lori into the tax department. Chris back to work on the walls. Went to the bank and signed the papers for my direct investment TFSA and got on line banking.

John getting busy, lots of people and phone calls. Went to the Home  Hardware store and bought the paint for the bedroom Beauti-Tone Designer Heritage Colour HD038 Summerside. White for the ceiling and same blue only a gloss for the trim. Had coffee at BH. John has Lion's business meeting tonight.

John W. and Philip's birthday. Should have been pay day but my books are in for year end. Went to lunch at BH. Work on the bedroom is coming along. Wallpaper is off. knee sore.

Gayle's birthday. John called her. Chris here working at 9 :(. Went to Mass at 5 and went to Doug & Laurie's to see their Italy pictures. Jack & Nancy there too. They showed them on their Wii and it is a nice effect the way they zoom in and out.

Slept in and had breakfast with John and Paula at Burger Hut. Went to practice at 3 and the concert was at 7. It went well and it was snowing when we came out.

Made a quick trip to Havelock to get a few stocking stuffers and then met Brian & Dorothy for lunch at BH. John dropped me off at Julia's and we did the seniors gift bags. Mary, Carole, Anne and Brenda also helped.

Tammy's Birthday! Got up and stuffed the turkey and put it in the oven at 6:30 am. Went back to bed till 9. There were 10 of us for lunch and it was a great success. Mary brought a salad and Joyce brought dessert. Shirley brought squares and Hendrina an appetizers. There were some gifts for us too. Me, Nancy D, Joyce D., Carole T., Mary E., Nancy M., Shirley H., Julia B., Hendrina P., and Laurie Mc. Went for coffee after and taste tested Paul's home made onion rings yummy.

Went to Peterborough and stopped to see Luke & Kendra's new house. Very cute. They have done the hardwood floors and painted all the rooms. Nice fenced yard. We then went shopping to Canadian Tire, Dollarama, Shoppers Drug Mart. We then had lunch at 50's where Joan was working. More shopping, Lansdowne Place, Costco and The Superstore for a turkey. Stopped for coffee on the way home. Very tired!

Went to work till 2:00 pm and then went to the Church to sing at Teresa Walsh's funeral with Dan and Theo. Joan and Luke were there. Very large crowd. Wet and dull damp day.

Took the day off and read a book. Went to the Lion's Christmas Dinner and sat with Deen's and George and Linda Terpstra. George was the entertainment with his Karaoke machine. each table sang a song. All country and western not my thing! Dinner was good.

Went to work and then Burger Hut for lunch. Theo joined us and we bought his as a thank you for all the rides he gives me from choir practice. Then we went to the Church to decorate for Christmas. Then we went to the parish dinner at the Millenium Room. It was very good and we were home by 8.

Cold and snowing! Tried to get tickets for the Lioness lunch but didn't. Went to Burger Hut instead. Went to choir practice but not too many there. Looking forward to hearing how Joan enjoyed the Gray Cup.

Another lazy day. Got some knitting done. Should have been organizing the boys room. Had coffee as usual and watched some DVR. Meghan called to say that the boys can't come. :( A bit disappointed but understand. Now I don't have to work in their room! :)

Pay day:) Went for lunch as usual. Joan came for supper and Meghan stopped in with her friend Ryan on their way to Lindsay. It was a nice visit with Joan and we got caught up on a lot of family news.

A lazy day didn't go out till Church at 5:00 Watched TV and knit all day. Sorry to hear that Teresa Walsh had died in the morning and her sister-in-law Theresa Patterson has fallen and broken her hip.

We both slept in till nearly 11 am! We quickly went for brunch at Burger Hut and sat with Hendrina and Theresa. It was very busy. The dinning room is done except for electricity. Bernie says he hasn't forgotten us. Went to choir practice and Theo drove me home. Christopher phoned and we got caught up on how everyone is and what they are doing. Still knitting every night.

Went to work, after supper we went to the Historical Society Meeting. Doug Pearcy did a slide show and talk about his recent trip to Holland and Germany where he visited war cemeteries and museums. Very interesting. Troy and Cathy were there too so it was a nice bonus to see them.

Weather still nice. Laundry is all caught up. Put 5 basket full away this morning! Last load is yesterdays. Went to Laurie's after supper to celebrate Joyce's birthday. It was a nice evening with the "girls". John went to Toms with the "boys"!

Had a great lunch at Burger Hut with good company. Started sorting gifts. Took a break for groceries and won $30.00 on my lottery tickets. Took John for coffee and desert. Paul makes a rice pudding that John likes. I had cherry pie. Did some more sorting and need to make a list. Nothing on TV so watched DVR and knit.

Cold toady. Did some more work on the library and sorted more boxes. Went to Mass at 5:00 pm and had our first dinner guest for supper in the dinning room. I used the Christmas dishes! A very nice evening. Meghan called and she had a good day at her sale. I am looking forward to seeing her and her brothers next weekend.
