We had a lazy morning
and finally packed up and hit the road around 11:30 am. We stopped for a couple
of hours at the Morrisburg Flea Market. Joan found a wicker mirror and a wicker
bench and a purse she has been looking for. I found some treasures too. You can
see them here. We stopped at The Pit for mushroom burgers, fries and zucchini
sticks. and again in Perth. Got home around 6:00 pm. Freshened up, plugged in
the camper and went to Mass at St. Anne's in Peterborough. Afterwards we stopped
at Joan's to pick up something she had borrowed and John fixed the door knob on
her bathroom door. Another beautiful day but clouds coming in on our way home
and it had rained here. Another early night.

Neither one of us
could get motivated today. It is dull and misty with some rain but very warm
and muggy. We went to the sod turning ceremony at the school and had coffee
afterwards with Fr. I had a nice chat on the phone with Meghan. Downloaded all
Joan's pictures from the wedding to Sunday and my own from the weekend, then
organized them a bit. We had left over salad for supper.

Very warm and humid
dull in the morning but the sun came out in the afternoon. Fr. had the air on
and the house was actually cool. We went to BH for coffee and then the bank and
the hardware store. I got a blue galvanized watering can and John got a
wheelbarrow. I also ordered a galvanized watering can. When we got home we
watered some plants and then I checked my email and got a shocking message from
my cousin Pat. His brother (my cousin) Bill's wife Patsy had died suddenly this
morning. We had heard at Aunt Eleanor's funeral that she had been diagnosed
with lung cancer. Pat said she was undergoing chemo but they think she died of a
heart attack. Meghan called and she needs us to pick up the leftover cross
stitch supplies ASAP. We will try to make arrangements.

Very very very hot and
humid. Thank goodness the rectory has air. Lazy day because of the heat. Finished
Cross Country by James Patterson. Joan called and we will cancel camping and go
to Renfrew on Friday as the Funeral Mass is Saturday at 10:00 am. Left the fan
on low all night!

Another warm day not
quite as humid and a nice breeze. Sent a birthday email to Carole C. Had lunch
at BH and went to the bank with my tax refund. Had a siesta with my book. Made
the Noodle bowl for supper using pork. John went to his Lion's meeting.

Spent the morning
packing and Joan arrived at noon. She decided that she didn't want to go. We
went to Burger Hut for lunch (coffee for Joan). Took over half an hour to get
to Havelock. Stopped in Marmora and got a box of electrical fixtures and 30-40
keys. Continued on to Renfrew and checked in at the Rocky Mountain Motel. When
we went to look for a restaurant for supper we came upon hwy 17 and I said turn
left. We immediately saw a sign for Wilderness Tours where Charlie is and it
was only 25 kicks. We followed the signs and asked at the desk for Charlie. The
young lady sent us to the bunk houses but there was no one there. We were just
heading out when we spotted a jeep and sure enough it was Charlie. We met him
at the main building and we had supper together. Afterwards he showed us one of
the rapid areas and lunch spot for the tours. He is loving his job and is very
enthusiastic. We returned to Renfrew and went to the wake. After waiting in
line outside one of the first people we saw was Helen and Dean Moody. We did
the rounds and had a good chat with Helen. Patsy was her first cousin. It was
very warm and we returned to the Motel around 9. We were to far away from the
main area to get the internet.

John went to take a
shower and there was no hot water. Not going back there again. A quick stop at
Tim's for a duchies and then we went to the funeral Mass. It was a large modern
Church and there was close to 500 people there. Afterwards we waited to get
into the hall as Bill was greeting everyone as they entered. Sat with Helen and
Dean and talked to various McGahern's and renewed acquaintances. Promised to
visit Dean & Helen over the summer. Virginia invited us to a BBQ at her
cottage but it wasn't till 6 pm and John (of course) wanted to go home. We
called Meghan to see about going to Ottawa but didn't connect. We took an
alternate route through Bancroft and called Pierre & Evelyn but no answer.
Stopped at a garage sale and got 3 glass balls. Got home around 4 and had a
nap. Leftovers for supper and early to bed.
