March 18, 2012

Went to Church in Havelock and had Breakfast with Bernard & Helen at the White House Cafe. We went to the Myserburg Flea Market and I bought a little shelf for $1.50. Hung wash on the line. Did more Kitchen work and John built a shelf for our mugs to hang on the wall. Hung more boxes and added things to them. Cooked a turkey pie we had bought at the Barn for supper.

St. Joseph's Day and Joseph's birthday. Worked on getting boxes up in the kitchen. Picked my first bouquet of blue flowers. Hung 2 loads of clothes on the line. My computer is acting up and Jason came and says I need a new "C" drive. It is still working but I keep getting warnings. Save, save save. I made a sausage frittata for supper. Lots of TV tonight. sunny and warm

After work I hung out 2 loads of wash as it was another vary warm day. Had to watch lots of DVR as the new one is coming tomorrow. Started a new Blog which I called Organized Chaos. Hope to post pictures every day. Meghan called and she has sold a lot of my cross stitch books. sunny

Went to work. Eastlink came to update our DVR and we will be getting more channels. He did some re-wiring as well. Went to choir practice at 6:30. Did some kitchen work. More laundry done. sunny

Left at 10:00 am for Rama and stopped for a short visit with Joan. We met up with Harry & Carole and went to our seats. Enjoyed Monty Python's Spamalot the Musical much more than I thought I would. The music and singing was very good. After the show we went for a swim and then after half an hour gambling we had supper with Harry & Carole and their friends Bud & Jean. gambled for an other half hour and then we lest for home. I lost $3.95. Not a good gambling day! Bought a cloche in the store at Rama. sunny till evening then light rain.

Went to Mass before work. There is a daffodil in bloom in the Rectory garden. The electrician was here and put the plug in the kitchen floor. Eastlink was back as we are not getting the new channels so they fixed that. I did more work on the Kitchen wall and made an Easter with display with my new cloche. Laurie, Nancy, Joyce and I attended the I.O.D.E. Ladies Night. There was a lovely dinner and great entertainment by a 17 year old girl who is the daughter of Denise Leahey. She had two young men accompanying her and she sang and step danced and played the piano. One of the boys also step-danced and played the fiddle and mandolin and the other was a talented guitarist. Worked on the kitchen and the computer till Justin arrived to fix my computer. He was here for 5 hours mostly waiting for things to download. I made Angel Brownies and we had the usual spaghetti for supper. I set up my favourites on the new DVR.

It is the twin's birthday. I can't believe they are 12 years old! We left in the morning to visit our friends Pierre and Evelyn who we met on our cruise. They live about an hour and a half away. There house is beautiful and overlooks a small lake. They had invited us for lunch but when we arrived they were also planning to feed us supper too! It was a wonderful visit with lots of talking and eating yum. We got home at 9:30.

Beautiful weather hung my first line of clothes out on the line.  Our car was in getting fixed and we got it back at 11:30 pm. I figured out the bead Kumihimo and finished one with white beads. Meghan called.

Very busy at work as I got my books back. It is better to be busy. It makes the day go faster. John made tacos for supper. Got lots of DVR to watch.

Our island arrived today so after work we put some things in it and sorted the glasses. I am very happy to have it. Had spaghetti for supper. Went to choir practice for Palm Sunday Service.

Did a St. Patrick's day and an Easter arrangement in the kitchen. Nancy called and her and Joyce came to see the kitchen and to borrow hats and shoes for decorations for the bridal shower on Saturday. We went to Havelock to the Dollar store and Tim Horton's  for a cookie and coffee (I had peach juice). We ordered Chinese for supper. John had Lions then we watched DVR and TV.

Went to Mass before work. Decided to check out the auction in town but there was nothing that caught our eye. Since we were out we decided to go to Peterborough and check out the consignment stores. Bought a plate rail shelf at the barn. had supper at the Dairy Queen. Made gift tags.

Saturday

March 17th Happy St. Patrick's Day. Sharon & John caught me in my nightgown making more tags for gifts. I sent them home with gifts for TJ and Paul as well as John. They also took a lot of cross stitch fabric which hopefully Meghan and the boys can sell for me.  I went to Sherry's Bridal Shower and Carolyn brought me home. We went with Tom & Joyce and Jack & Nancy to see The Carlton Show band. It was a great show with good music and some laughs.

In the morning we did housecleaning and set up for the jewellery party featuring Meghan's jewellery.  I made triple layer bars and they turned out great.  We had several people come even my friend from the lodge in Kingston who I had not seen since last June. She lives in Prince Edward County. We have been keeping in touch through email and Facebook. John's sister and friend came from Cobourg It was Meghan's most successful Jewellery Party ever so she was very happy and gave me several "Hostess Gifts". I made a chicken vegetable pasta medley for supper. sunny

Steve the Electrician stopped in and did a little work but he will not be back to do the floor outlet for two weeks :(. Meghan made me a couple of pairs of earrings and then we took a quick trip to Michael's to spend money.  We got home around noon and she was all packed and headed home. Did some computer work and made Quick Tuna bake for supper. sunny cold day.

I was 10 min late for work this morning but ended up staying an extra 10 min. Cooked Chili beef with Mushrooms for supper, hadn't had it in a long time and it was as good as ever. Steve the Builder called and they will be bringing our counter top to install it on Friday yipee! sun & cloud

Making Turkey soup. windy and wet cold. Sharon & John stopped in on their way to the airport. John brought me chocolate covered macadamia nuts from his trip to Hawaii. Sharon brought my bag of craft supplies I had ordered from Meghan. I joined Pinterest and had fun looking at other people's pins. John cooked supper tonight. I tried the Kumihimu braid with beads but not sure I have it right.

Finished the turkey soup for supper and it was yummy. Went to church at 5:00 in Norwood. I did several pages for the trip scrapbook and printed them. I also printed some pages for Charlie's book.

Went to Mass in Havelock and had breakfast at the White House Cafe. Spent the day at the computer. James & Denise stopped in. Joan called and she was in an accident yesterday and wrote off her SUV. Luckily she has only a scratch on her hand. Had traditional roast beef dinner for supper. Christopher called.

Leap Year! A very busy day at work. I had to send in my year-end with 24 faxed pages. Phone was busy too. After work we paid bills at the Town Hall went to the Bank and Post Office. Then went for a short visit to Jack & Nancy's for them to sign some papers, and then took the knobs for the cupboard doors to Dave & Mary's and stayed for tea.

A lot of snow and freezing rain in the morning. Dave came and took a knob off the cupboard to match the stain. Joan came for a visit and tea and she had some good ideas for the dinning room. John at Lion's supper. Meghan called.

Messy morning with fog and freezing rain. After work I did some computer stuff and then made scalloped potatoes for the Pot Luck Supper at Dave and Mary's. There were about 20 people there and we didn't know most of them but they were very friendly and it was an enjoyable evening. We got home at 9:00 and Meghan had just arrived for the weekend.

Paul's Birthday. Very windy. Meghan and I played with our computers in the kitchen.  We went to Peterborough and I got gifts for all the birthdays. We also checked out the Barn. A nice afternoon. Church was in Norwood at 5:00 pm. and after we went to Foodland. I made Bernie's Green Holiday Salad for desert and Meghan made meatballs for our spaghetti supper. In the evening we did Kumihimo braiding and I made a necklace, we also had chocolate milkshakes with our desert.

Went to Mass in Havelock and we sang Happy Birthday to Fr. Had breakfast at the White House Cafe. Worked at my computer and the kitchen and then went for supper at Theo & Margs. Fr. and Harry and Carole were there too. The meal was fantastic and afterwards we sang Happy Birthday again and gave Fr. his gifts then we played Rummoli. Had a great time.

The phone was very busy at work today. Talked to Joan and we will meet with her on Thursday. Sunny start but then clouds and a bit of snow. Did a couple of Ivy Scraps challenges. A couple of pages for Charlie's book. Had bratwurst sausages for supper. Lots of TV tonight.

Philip and John W's birthday. Lots of phone calls at work again. Ash Wednesday so went to Mass at 7 pm it was for Aunt Eleanor. Fish for supper of course. Sunny then very dark at noon then sun again. Finished reading James Patterson's Violets Are Blue.

Gayles Birthday we phoned and left a message. Went to Peterborough to get the filter for the microwave and a few other things for the kitchen. Stopped in to see Joan and see how the construction on the apartment is coming. Luke arrived while we were there. It is going to be quite cosy for Luke and Kendra when it is done. We went to 2 Dollar Stores, Canadian Tire (got a food processor) and Zellars (got some stocking stuffers and curtains). We had lunch at Harvey"s (A beautiful thing!)

Got home at 3:30. Sunny day but calling for snow tonight and tomorrow. Made a cabbage roll casserole.

A very snowy day! I left work 15 min early as the roads were getting really bad. Spent the afternoon in my warm kitchen at the computer doing challenges and still catching up. Cooked a fish stew for supper. Meghan phoned. Watched some DVR.

Went to Mass in Havelock and had breakfast at the White House Cafe. Worked on the computer and printed invitations for the Jewelery Party on March 4. Meghan phoned and we had a nice chat. She is enjoying her job at the bead store. Later Christopher phoned and we got caught up on family.cloudy

Ken and Derik Finished the painting and helped us move the stove in. My Christmas present from Sean arrived a book on Fonts called 8 Faces. We had lunch at Bigga Joes and went to the hardware store. Spent more time on the computer and made a list of questions to ask Jason. We used the stove and had supper in the kitchen.cloudy

I got my hair cut today at Nadines. and we had an appointment at the bank. I opened an interest free savings account. Christopher called. Steve and Derek were here and I now have a sink, dishwasher and microwave! I cooked spanish rice for supper. Derek helped John bring in all the units and the corner cupboard is now fastened in. John went to his Lions meeting.rainy misserable day.

Went to Mass this morning before work. It was a busy day with lots of phone calls. Jason sent his bill for the computer and stopped in and changed my browser to firefox. He also brought the Battery Backup. We worked on cleaning cupboards and doing dishes. I figured out how to move my fils on the computer all by myself. I cooked a tuna casserole for supper. snow and sun and clouds high 3 low -4.

Lots of snow but mild. Dave & Mary came over and measured for the cupboard doors. We went to the Hardware Store 10th Anniversary and had cake and wraps. Bought paint and ordered knobs for the cupboards. Sun came out in the sfternoon. Spaghetti for supper. I missed it!
